  • Greetings, Gratefuls!
I am full of joy today because I love the fact that I get to travel the world to study with great teachers, then share what I've learned with all of you! I have just returned from such a journey and hardly needed the plane to fly home!! I will conclude this article with new "ahas" but wanted first to focus on the power of the 3rd High-Way in 8 to Great: Full Responsibility.

In this Key-Mail series, we are on the 3rd step of a 4-step "Four-mula" that only requires a few minutes each day to move you into the life of your dreams! First we covered STEP 1: writing down 3-5 gratitudes each morning with NO repeats - ever! In the next, we learned STEP 2: the power and process of Dreaming!

Now let's review what we know about STEP 3, Full Responsibility:
    - Who are we responsible for?
    - Who are we not responsible for?
    - There are three kinds of business: ours, other people's and God's. What is the ONLY business we can be in and still be happy?
    - What is our ultimate responsibility?

    The answers are:
    - ourselves
    - others
    - our own
    - to be happy

I challenged a coaching client last week with, "Would it feel better to let your spouse think what he wants to about the war? How does it feel to make his opinion your problem?"

I coached a recovering addict yesterday who was distracted by a crisis in his extended family. "What I see is that you cannot work your recovery program and theirs at the same time. Which is more important to you?"

And I coached myself a dozen times this week: "You have given him (my teenager) the tools. Now let him make his own decisions!"

The wife, the adult in recovery and I all felt so much better, but so did her husband, the addict's family and my son. Full Responsibility for ourselves benefits everyone! So, let's let the first two letters in FReedom remind us of Full Responsibility. It's a small price to pay to be FRee to enjoy the gift of each day.

Finally, a few "ahas" to send you into the month...
    - When you worry about others, you are always in a worse place than they are.

    - To stay in joy, focus on what you have rather than what you don't have, what you can do rather than what you can't do and who loves you rather than who doesn't.

    - There are no big decisions, only lots of little ones that add up. Choose joy in this moment, and joy will continue to come your way!

Have a Grateful Thanksgiving Month, Dear Ones!
