Greetings, Gratefuls! I recently watched a coaching client read her first romantic novel in years only to have the main character (in her words) "walk out of the pages and into my life." As Mike Dooley of www.tut.com loves to remind us, "Thoughts become things." Friends, we are FREE! We do not have to be slaves to our negative thoughts! The journey starts with confronting that small whiney voice in our head that is afraid to commit to thoughts that feel good. Certainly, if we had to do it perfectly we would all give up and go home, but we do not. With my FGH formula, when we find ourselves thinking bad feeling thoughts, we can: So over the next few Key-Mails, I'll be giving you a 4-step "Four-mula" to carry you forward which has been proven by thousands of my clients and audience members to release anyone into Inner-Freedom! It will only "cost you" a few minutes each morning, but the rewards will range from pure fun to positively financial! How you start your day determines in large part how your day will go. If you are ready to commit to feeling good and attracting the good things that come with it, begin here: STEP 1 is familiar to most of you - writing out 3-5 each morning with NO repeats - ever! Why do you need to write them down? Trust your coach here. For the first year of this rich-ual it will keep you on track if you simply take that ONE minute a day to write your gratitudes. After that year has passed, gratitude will become so ingrained in you, you won't have to write them down. (If you want a "grow-the-gratitude" wristband to wear for that year as a reminder, go to www.growthegratitude.com.) For those of you who have been doing this for awhile, I now have three versions of this activity that I use interchangeably: Here's an example of how I mix them up: It's that simple. Often when I invite friends and family members to share "What was your favorite part" (of a particular experience) they reply, "everything." While acceptable, that answer does not evoke the rush of joy that reminding ourselves of special moments can bring. We certainly have lived years of reminding ourselves of painful moments, have we not? I am simply rooting for the good feeling memories to receive equal time! So the next time you're on your way home from fireworks, and traffic is extremely slow and the kids in the backseat are cranky, turn to that wonderful person sitting next to you and ask, "What was your favorite part?" If they do not have one, that's okay, you will. And it will take you where you want to go - to the freedom to choose happiness that has been waiting for you all along! Isn't it time to have the time of your life? Check in in a few weeks for Step 2 of the Four-mula to Inner Freedom! Blissings, For more gratitude helpers, such as our Gratitude Handbook with over 30 activities for home, work or classroom, go to www.growthegratitude.com. You'll be grateful you did!
On Friday, August 10, American Idol auditions will be held in Omaha. We are very excited about this chance for our young adults to take that next big RISK! But that's not all we're excited about... On Wed, August 8th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. I'll be hosting "Hollywood, Here We Come" auditions. It will be a way for performers to prepare to be "under pressure" as well as a fundraiser for St. John Vianney. The evening will imitate Michael Lawson's trip to Hollywood last year in every way possible. Singers will sing on the floor rather than on a stage, with no mike, etc. The first 20 contestants who sign up (by calling (402) 553-0555 will get to perform at least part of two songs. (There is a suggested $10 donation per performer.) There will of course be 3 music professionals as judges, but we'll also allow the audience to purchase ballots at $1 a piece (limit 20). There will be refreshments and prizes. At the end of the evening the top 3 singers according to the judges AND the top three singers according to the audience will be announced and given special Hollywood Here I Come Dream Posters with their names on them. (Posters can be seen at www.customdreamposters.com. ) It will all start at 7 p.m. at St. John Vianney's Parish Hall, just south of 121st and Q Streets. If you know someone who would like to audition, have them contact us at 553-0555. Audience seats are free and first come first served that evening. Come and root for our next shining stars! It will be a de-light-full evening!
