    Greetings, Gratefuls!
Thank you all for your emails this past month. With my writing, speaking and traveling schedules, I shall do my best never to miss a Key-Mail month again! But now, I have twice as much excitement about the power within to share with you, so let's get started with:

    Getting Rid of Howie!
I just returned from a glorious 7-day cruise with none other that www.tut.com himself, Mike Dooley! You may remember him as the "Thoughts become Things" guy from the movie "The Secret."

Getting to know Mike and getting to be with 70 like-minded people IN THE BAHAMAS was as glorious as any vacation could be. I strongly recommend his seminars! Here is the "piece" I came home with:

The best way to get manifest miracles more quickly in your life is to give the HOWs over to your Loving Source and focus on the END result for 5 minutes a day.

"That's not new,MK," I hear you murmur. "You taught us the Gratitude Sand-Wish a long time ago:"
    1) 3 Gratefuls for the last 24 hours
    2) Intentions you want to come true
    3) Gratitudes for the Intenions already coming true

Yes, I know, but I never reallllllly got that I was such a "Howie." I have, throughout my life wondered, "How will I find the time?" "How will I find the money?" "How will I find the guy" and then of course, struggled to accomplish all my "How's", never wanting to leave a stone unturned! Can you relate?!?

Mike re-minded me to get out my Staples "That was EASY" button and focus ONLY on the end result. My new resolve feels wonderful! Here, for example, is my new morning "Howless" Gratitude Sand- Wish:
    1) I get my phone call every morning from my Gratitude Partner and we exchange 3-5 gratitudes with NO repeats. (Love you, Norma!!!)
    2) My roomie from the cruise calls me next and we share our Dream Come True journaling that we did before our heads hit the pillow the night before. (Love you, Colleen!!!)
    3) I say a silent gratitude that my thoughts are RIGHT NOW becoming things!

Total time for BOTH phone calls is never more than 10 minutes! Are you worth it? As Mike says in "The Secret," how bad do you want change?

Speaking of "The Secret," It's on Oprah today at 4:00 Central Time. A priest friend of mine recently said there needed to be some Scriptures in it. I agree that this is EXACTLY what Jesus taught! Anyone up for making that video with us? : )

Have a blissed and blessed month, Dear Ones! If you'd like to join our March training weekend, we still have four slots left. (See below) We also are offering a VALENTINE'S SPECIAL - If you order products from us between now and Feb. 13th, you'll receive my two newest songs, "Everything You Ask For" and "Something Bigger" on a CD free!

Meanwhile, let us know how the miracles are manifesting in your life these days. We love to hear from you!
    Gratefully,
    MK

Gratitude Letter Writing Contest Deadline Approaches!

I am thrilled to remind you that The Gratitude Gathering, a fun and fund-raising event we created last year will be even Bigger and Better this year!

If you live in the Omaha area, it will be held at Joslyn's Witherspoon Hall on Saturday, April 21st and will feature music magnificents such as Camille Metoyer Moten, our American Idol contestant Michael Lawson, and nationally acclaimed Mulberry Lane!

The Gratitude Letter Writing Contest is a major part of the evening. Emcee Dave Webber reads each winning letter with piano music accompaniment. It is touching beyond words. So, grateful friends, Send in Your Letters by March 1st!

The letter writing guidelines for adults, are at www.sjvomaha. org. If you are a teacher in the Nebraska Iowa area, email me at mkmotiv8@aol.com, and I'll send you the rules for kids' entries. It's a GREAT way to get the Spirit of Gratitude going in your school, home, or organization!

I taught my son's youth group how to write Gratitude Letters last night (be specific, sign them, send them) and one young woman said at the end of the evening through her tears, "I've always wanted a way to say Thanks to the people I love, but I never knew how until tonight." Most of the students wrote for 20 minutes!

Use this contest as an excuse to give yourself the gift of sitting down and writing a letter. Send it to the person and then send us a hard copy (no emails). You could be a winner of gift certificates, free tickets to the event and my new music Mini-CD. But the best gift of all will be the gratitude you feel for having done it!

    High-Way 5 - #4 Listening to Feelings Without Fixing

Supplies Needed: Copies of Worksheet #4A (Please Listen) for participants

Objective: To help students understand how to listen to feelings without "fixing."

    1) (Write on the board before beginning: ) Please Listen.

    2) Today we’re all getting a copy of a poem that has been around for years. No one knows who wrote it, but it’s very famous. It’s called, Please Listen. We’ll start at the front desk and have each person read one stanza so everyone can hear you. If you don’t want to read, just say “Pass.”

(NOTE: You may want to discuss the word "irrational." Sometimes feelings aren't logical, and we can't even explain why we feel a certain way.)

    3) (Discuss: )
    - What is it you want more from your parents, talking or listening?
    - What is it you think your friends want more from you, talking or listening?
    - Would you be willing to take this poem home and read it to your parents some evening? Why or why not?
    - The next time something big comes up for you, can you see yourself asking your parents or friends to “Please listen without advice or interruptions”? Explain your answer.
    - Do you think it will be hard or easy for you to listen to your friends' feelings without trying to "fix" them?

    High-Way 5 - #4A Please Listen Poem

When I ask you to listen to me and you start giving me advice, you have not done what I asked.

When I ask you to listen to me and you begin to tell me why I shouldn't feel that way, you are trampling on my feelings.

When I ask you to listen to me and you feel you have to do something to solve my problem, you have failed me, strange as that may seem.

Listen! All I ask is that you listen. Don't talk or do - just hear me.

Advice is cheap; I can do for myself; I am not helpless.

Maybe discouraged and faltering, but not helpless.

When you do something for me that I can and need to do for myself, you contribute to my fear and weakness.

But when you accept as a simple fact that I feel what I feel, no matter how irrational, then I can stop trying to convince you and start understanding what's behind my irrational feeling.

And when that's clear, the answers are obvious and I don't need advice. Irrational feelings make sense when we understand what's behind them.

So, please listen, and just hear me. And if you want to talk, wait a minute for your turn - and I will listen to you.
